Each contestant had to perfom a talent. They were allowed to do group talents with other contestants, and one group of boys did a "90's Montage" full of Backstreet Boys, Saved By the Bell, etc. (I had a hard time connecting that Backstreet Boys and Saved By the Bell were both in the 90's, because I watched Saved By the Bell on Saturday mornings as a small kid and my love for Nick Carter was in my pre-teen years. Seems like a huge gap in time, but the 90's spanned most of my adolescence. And pop boy bands rose to stardom in the very late 90's. But I digress.)
It got me thinking, these college kids couldn't have possibly watched Jesse Spano overdose on caffeine pills and get so excited. They were born 1990 to 1994. They were mere babies when Lisa Turtle broke her ankle and still won the dance competition at the Max with Screech Powers. (It also reminded me that I need to start checking ID's when meeting guys out.)
Here are some things that bring back 90's childhood memories and make me giggle. Hope they do the same for you!

What makes you think of the 90's?
Awww! MASH! I loved MASH! And I had the BIGGEST crush on JTT. :) He was totally my future husband. Also, LFO's "Summer Girls" was my anthem! :)
ReplyDeleteSummer Girls! I'm totally putting that on my "Ready for Summer" running playlist!
DeleteOH my GOSH I love all those things!!! JTT, my first crush. Wonder Years is still my favorite show... I'm pretty sure I was happier when Wonder Years started streaming on Netflix then when I finished school. Butterfly Clips, now those are something I haven't thought about in a loooog time. I used a scrunchie as my tee shirt clip : )
