Incomplete Weekend To Do List

My weekend to do list of 5 million things did not have many scratch throughs.  Although, I did get more accomplished than last weekend aka the weekend of "yes".

Friday night I picked up an extra shift at work, then went home and crashed.

Saturday morning my bestie and I met at the park for a really hot, quick 2 mile run.  Then, I hit up the 9:30 CrossFit class which was a skill day.  We worked on a lot of core movements (arch rocks, hollow rocks, tucks) and ring stuff (inverted hangs, false grip, and holds).  After all that, we did 100 wall squats and 200 double unders for form, not time.  My calves are so sore from those double unders!

While at CrossFit, my mom had left me a message saying she was at Dillards and they had an extra 30% off all the sale stuff.  I was a sweaty mess, but cannot miss a deal, so my stinky butt went to Dillards.  I bought a couple of dresses and a few shirts.  (I have to take one of the dresses back.  I was so stinky and sweaty that I refused to try it on in the store.  When I put it on at home, it was hideous!)

Eventually, after a trip to Sam's and scarfing down a huge salad, I took a much needed shower. Another trip to the grocery store later, I made guacamole deviled eggs and watermelon margaritas to bring to a barbeque.  The margaritas were a little bit too strong this time around and we didn't even finish one of the 3 pitchers I brought. Needless to say, we ended up at a bar and the night got a little crazy.

Sunday was the usual: lunch at mom and dad's.  The evening was spent doing laundry, poisoning the weeds in my flower beds, cooking for the week (2 new recipes to come!), and watching Contraband.  Oh how I love Mark Walberg.  He is my ultimate celebrity crush!

Things still on my to-do list: clean my bathroom, create a recipage for this blog, return books to the library and get new ones (I'm now overdue 2 days!), make popsicles, replace the flowers in the pots on my front porch.

But this week's schedule is not nearly as crazy as last week, so maybe I'll find the time to get these things done.  Also, since Wednesday is a work holiday, I'm considering using vacation days Thursday and Friday to make for an extra long holiday weekend.

Workout plan for the week:
Monday- 3 mile run   slept through my opportunity :(
Tuesday- 5:30 AM CrossFit
Wednesday- 4 miler on the 4th!
Thursday- SeeFit: Road2theCure mini competition at CrossFit
Friday- 5:30 PM CrossFit (and maybe stand up paddle boarding if I take off work?!)
Saturday- 3 mile run + CrossFit or 5 mile run
Sunday- 3 mile run

Who is your ultimate celebrity crush?  Did you do anything fun and crazy this weekend?

What I'm Loving Wednesday

1. Julienne Peeler

source

I have been wanting one and finally broke down and spent the $9.99 at Bed, Bath, and Beyond.  I'm.in.love!  Cucumber "noodles" and squash "noodles" have been made.  (Complete recipes will be posted soon!)  An attempt at bell pepper "noodles" deemed unsuccesful.  Next on my list is sweet potato noodles.  What else can I julienne?!?

2. Library Elf and Other Online Library Services

source
Why pay $9.99 for a book when my tax dollars provide me with all the books I could ever borrow?  And since I can browse the entire parish's card catalog online and place a hold on books, I don't even have to waste time perusing the shelves.  My new best friend, the Library Elf, texts me when my on hold books are ready for pickup.  He is also kind enough to remind me when books are due, saving me from $0.25 a day in late fees.

Also, enitre library CD catalog can now be downloaded from their website in MP3 version.  There is a maximum of 10 songs per week, but I was able to download an entire Wood Brothers album.  Free music=win!

Reading the blog daily is a constant source of inspiration, running tips, and recipes. Just yesterday morning, I used this recipe  to make baked eggs in whole roasted tomatoes.  Yum!
I tried to put 2 eggs in my tomato, but they didn't fit.

Can we please start Sunday Runday in Lake Charles?  I'll bring the watermelon!

4.  This dress I bought from Target.

source

I wore it for church Sunday and again to work on Monday.  Yes, two days in a row and I'm not ashamed.  It is so comfortable and bright!  At first I was unsure about the high low trend, but now I'm on board.

5. Eggplant are finally in!

Babaganoush is on the menu.  It will make a great poolside snack with fresh veggies for dipping.

6.  You!  Thanks for reading my little ol' blog!

How do you feel about the high-low skirt trend?  What else can I julienne? I'm obsesssed!  What are you loving?

What I _____ Wednesday, Vol. 22

Because I am still focusing on being positive after what I have dubbed GrumpFest 2012, today is:

What I Am Looking Forward To Wednesday

1. A Saturday that is jam packed with fun things to do...so much so, that I'm having trouble fitting them all in.
  • Seeing one of my besties from out of town and meeting her new beau.
  •
I'm in the middle...she is on the right.  Her pouffy head dress is her birthday hat made by Grace, on the left.
  • Eating crawfish in the company of some of my favorite people in the enitre world.
  • Partying poolside with my sister and her crazy co-workers.
  • Lounging in the grass while listening to local bands and supporting a good cause.  (If you are in the lake area, you should check it out!)
  •

2. My godson's christening on Sunday.  I'm not so excited about standing in front of a congregation of strangers, but I am thrilled to be a part of such an important day in Patrick's life.  Plus, I haven't seen him in almost two weeks and miss his sweet cheeks!
This is me and Patrick on the day he was born!

3. Tackling this WOD this afternoon.  Last time I attempted "Morrison", last July, I timed out at 30 minutes after completing 50-40-30. I also stepped up instead of box jumped and used a 20# kettlebell.  Today, I'm going to attempt box jumps and at least a 25# kb.

4. Catching a ton of white perch next weekend! My family has a camp on Toledo Bend and prime fishing time for perch is late March through late April.  Dad has gone the past couple of weekends and caught fish like crazy!  I've been too busy to make my way up there, but next weekend, Lola and I are lake bound.
Lola loves fishing at the lake.
5. Buying pineapples for $1 a piece at Kroger this week.  Which begs the question, how many pineapple can one girl eat in a week?

6. In the further future, my favorite weekend of the entire year.  Every Memorial day weekend, me and my best girlfriends (we call ourselves the Ponkies...long story) go on a trip.  Our little getaway is in it's fifth year and we are going to Galveston.  Not the vacation of my dreams, but it doesn't matter where we go, just that we are together.  (Sounds so cheesy, but if you only knew the insanity that is this trip, you would understand!)  Every year, I get nervous that it won't live up to the previous year, but it has yet to disappoint me.  Out of town Rebecca is ready to play!
Last year's ponkie trip to the New Orleans Food & Wine Experience.  New Orleans+Ponkies+3 nights=a week long recovery process.

7. Pulling out and wearing my linen.  I'm trying my hardest to wait until June, the official start of summer, but my white linen pants keep taunting me from the back fo my closet!

8. My skin turning a darker shade.  While I am starting to be much more cautious about exposing myself to the sun and wearing sunscreen, I am just much more confident about myself when tan!  Since I like to be outdoors and am fairly dark complected, turning brown in the summer is inevitable.  And I can't wait!

Hello, tan Rebecca!  I miss you.
9. A challenge I have lined up for myself that I will tell you more about later! Hint: It involves an alarm clock and exercise.

10. The return of the library to my life.  The last few books I have read have been borrowed or bought. (Dang addictive Hunger Games trilogy...I was too impatient to wait for them to come off hold at the library and they cost me $25!)  I'm happily returning to the library, card in hand, to take advantage of one the best, most under utilized resources my tax dollars fund.

What are you looking forward to? Besides the weekend, because we are all looking forward to that!

Any good and healthy pineapple recipes?
