done

The Paleo challenge is officially over!  My journal is turned in, my end of Paleo WOD completed, and after pictures taken.

I was hoping this post would have been Wednesday, because I planned on completing everything Tuesday, but life happens.  And by life, I mean getting in a wreck and smashing my car to bits.  The good news is I'm okay and so is the other woman involved.  The bad news is I'm 99.9% sure my car is totaled. :(

After my dad came to my rescue at the scene of the accident, he drove me to his house, where I drowned my sorrows in pizza and peanut butter (not together) and took my mom's car for the night.  Even though Paleo officially ended Monday morning, this was the first non-Paleo meal I ate.  Boy, did it make me sick. And probably not the best thing to eat the night before my "after" pictures.

But I digress....back to the end of the challenge.  Here is how I fared:

Before and after pictures: I have no idea, because I didn't look at them.  But I did not see a noticeable difference in the mirror.  Or in how my shorts fit.

Paleo food journal: 742 points was my total.  (We received 100 points every Monday.  Add 3 for every day you take fish oil supplements, add 3 for every workout, subtract 5 for each serving of cheat.)  My only cheats were beer, ice cream, and beer.

WOD: On February 9, my time was 29:16.  Yesterday,  the same workout with the exact same weights, my finish time was 26:44.

I am not pleased or displeased with my finish.  Could I have done better? Yes.  Do I care that I didn't? No.  I never expected to win it all.

So now what?  I truthfully don't know.  Obviously, my belly has developed some kind of disdain for grain. (It rhymes!)  My goal for now is to stick with Paleo, but be a little more lax on the weekends.

It was a fun and challenging 6 weeks, but I'm glad it's over.

Have you ever competed in a challenge at your gym?
If you could only have one indulgent food for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Obviously, mine would be beer or ice cream.  Maybe an ice cream float with beer?!?

    1. Cookies would be good, because there is such a large variety.

  2. I think a beer float would be totally gross, but a hard cider float might be good :)

    1. I was thinking Guiness. Or maybe even a fruity beer, like Strawberry Abita.
